St John’s is a Parish Church set in the parish of Ben Rhydding and is part of the Otley Deanery in the Diocese of Bradford. We are a very family friendly church blessed with many children of all ages attending regularly. We are the only Church of England Church in Ben Rhydding.
At the AGM in April 2013, there were 140 members on the Electoral Roll, of whom two-thirds were women of various ages. There is also a significant number of families in their 30's and a thriving group of children and young people.
The Reverend Peter Willox is Vicar at St John's and he and all the church family offer everyone a warm welcome.
You are more than welcome to join us at one of our forthcoming worship services and we have a wide range of activities taking place in our Church Hall throughout the week. Do see our calendar for more details and do visit our photo gallery to see some photographs of St John's and its beautiful surroundings near Ilkley Moor.
The churchmanship is open evangelical with a welcoming atmosphere and a broad based spirituality. The church is diverse in nature, offering a wide range of activities that enable members to experience Jesus and grow spiritually in a way that is meaningful for them personally. The congregation is drawn largely from the local community of the parish itself, with approximately 75% of the congregation coming from within the parish. We do look forward to welcoming you at one of our forthcoming services and do take a look at the blog of the Bishop of Bradford - Rt Rev Nick Baines at http://nickbaines.wordpress.com/
During the Spring of 2013 the clergy team at St John's gave an inspiring series of sermons on "What is worship". These can now all be considered at your leisure by following this link Worship series of sermons and downloading the appropriate sermon.
