  • Welcome to St John's Ben Rhydding

St John’s is a Parish Church set in the parish of Ben Rhydding and is part of the Otley Deanery in the Diocese of Bradford. It is the only Church of England church in Ben Rhydding.

The churchmanship is open evangelical with a welcoming atmosphere and a broad based spirituality. The church is diverse in nature, offering a wide range of activities that enable members to experience Jesus and grow spiritually in a way that is meaningful for them personally. The congregation is drawn largely from the local community of the parish itself, with approximately 75% of the congregation coming from within the parish.

At the AGM in April 2008, there were 160 members on the Electoral Roll, of whom two-thirds were women of various ages. There is also a significant number of families in their 30's and a thriving group of children and young people.
St. John's recently enjoyed a year of Centenary Celebrations, the foundation stone having been laid in October 1905. The Reverend Peter Willox is the Priest-in-Charge at St John's and he and all the church family offer everyone a warm welcome.

You are more than welcome to join us at one of our forthcoming worship services and we have a wide range of activities taking place in our Church Hall throughout the week. Do see our calendar for more details and do visit our photo gallery to see some photographs of St John's and its beautiful surroundings near Ilkley Moor.
