Worship Services
The present Sunday worship pattern is as follows:
8am – Holy Communion service following the 1662 Book of Common Prayer for approximately 45 minutes every week except 5th Sunday
10am – this service varies throughout the month as follows:
All but the Celebration Service are led by the music group, with a variety of piano- and occasionally organ-based music used, together with guitar, cello, flute and clarinet accompaniment as appropriate. The Celebration Service is led by a contemporary worship team, lending a more informal atmosphere to this service. There are also a wide variety of special services throughout the year. Please see the calendar for details of up and coming special services.
St John's welcomes everyone to come to any of our Services. Hymns and songs of worship are printed each week from a variety of sources and are available in large print. St John's has good access for those with disabilities and has a hearing loop for those hard of hearing. A number of the congregation take part in reading the lesson and leading intercessions and we aim to make all of our worship services welcoming to all. |
